Racing: General Discussion

St Michaels Challenge
Author Last Post
The "finish" is informally "SM2" just outside of St. Michael's/Fog Cove.
There is no recording of time, only a rendezvous.
There is no protocol for taking slip at the marinas or anchoring out. Participants will make that decision for themselves.
If enough people are interested, I will serve as anchor boat for an afternoon/evening raft-up for socialization, drinks and snacks. (Members provide their own)

Where, exactly, is the finish?

Checkout the weather models for the weekend. They look great for the Saturday run to St. Michael's. Downwind to Blood Pt. Then semi-close hauled up Eastern Bay. Then down wind to the finish.

Event on June 18!

My brother is coming in from TN for a week. So, I talked him in doing this with me. Now I am getting over 4 level spinal fusion and I won't be 100%. I hope to be released to sail on 6/15. And he has no real sailing experience except for two other trips with me, one in my C&C24 with 25kt winds and nice rollers on the bay Thanksgiving weekend and another new years cold 15kt day. All cold weather sailing. So, I am sure he won't know how to act.

I hope the weather works out for this event. I am putting my order in with Triton.

Rumor is the Commodore is bringing some awards to hand out, too.
