From: Douglas Ellmore

Ahoy CHESSS!

As a final reminder, CHESSS will be hosting its Annual End of Season membership meeting this Saturday, November 18th at Bacon Sails from Noon to 2 pm. There is a limited capacity of 30 people so registration is requested and open at https://chesss.clubexpress.com/.

Jeff Halpern has agreed to pick up Pizza’s and sodas.

A key item for the meeting we be asking for interest in participation in open officer positions and Board positions. As the Commodore Pro Tempore, I’ve agreed to continue on as the permanent Commodore and John Zselecsky has agreed to step up as Vice Commodore. Jointly we will work promoting racing in 2024. We will then ask for anyone with interests in these positions and two open positions for Board Members At Large. After discussion, we will conduct an election by the members.

After some additional club business, the big highlight of course is our guest speaker Anthony (Ant) Stewart on his shorthanded experiences as the first and only person to have successfully circumnavigated our planet in an open boat. Ant sailed that voyage in a 19 foot Dudley Dix trailerable yacht with modifications designed and constructed by Ant.
