Shorthanded Cruising

Cruise/Rendezvous - Gray's Inn Creek II
John Zseleczky

The last cruise planned for Gray's Inn Creek was cancelled for lack of participants and poor weather so we're going to try again. Here's the info from the last Forum blurb:

Gray's Inn Creek is at about the same latitude as Rock Hall but you have to sail up the Chester River to get there. It's a beautiful, quiet creek which makes for a good raft up. There's no town so bring provisions.

A map with a chart inset has been posted on the CHESSS website in the Documents section under "Challenges-Social". You can contact me anytime if there are questions or suggestions.

For the Cruise to St. Michael's we started a group phone text thread which made it easy to keep track of everyone and added a fun social element so we'll do that again.

It's best if you try to arrive no later than 5pm. That gives time to socialize before dinner. Hope you can make it, please register using the "Event Calendar" so we know who's coming.

Grays Inn Creek is one of my favorite anchorages on the Chesapeake. Its an easy hop from Annapolis, Rock Hall, the Chester River , or the Magothy. It is well protected yet has decent breezes to cool things down. It generally is not buggy, In my many years of poking in there, I have never seen it crowded. And, there is good holding for the hook. If you don't know the Grays Inn Creek, this is a great time to discover this gem. If you know the Creek, then its a good excuse to enjoy it once again.

Last time that CHESSS did a raft-up we had a great turn out of our mostly "most gregarious introverts". I hope that some of you will join us.

It's one day before the trip to Gray's Inn Creek and Jeff and I are the only one's registered. We've been in touch and decided to cancel this outing since we both have other things to do. I was surprised that no other CHESSS members were interested in cruising up the Chester River. We can talk about it at the next CHESSS meeting.

If anyone is interested in cruising somewhere else in the fall, please let me know.
