Racing: General Discussion

2022 St. Mary's Governor’s Cup: July 29 - 30, ...
Doug Ellmore Sr.

I have inquired with the organizing official for 2022 St. Mary's Governors Cup about including a shorthanded CHESSS class.

If you would be interested in participating please let me know. I think if we can get a nice group of boats to commit to register, we could get a start. But, I need the feedback and commitments in joining me in racing to St. Mary's.

If you want to know what it is like to do the race, I'd be happy to chat with you on the forum, email, or phone. I have done it on a C&C24 doublehanded, my CS30 with 5 crew, and my CS30 with 3 crew. I am planning to do it this year again doublehanded if we can get a CHESSS start.

Cheers!

Any questions or help, let me know.

This first time I did this race was doublehanded on my C&C 24 with a 25kt breeze from the S. We finished just afternoon on Saturday.

Last year was epic, we finished before 3:30 am in my CS30 with the breeze down wind until we got to Point Lookout triple handed.

In 2019, the boom came off the mast and we had to bolt it on and lost 2 hrs. That really set us back. But we finished and were not last.
