Thanks everyone who participated in the March 30th meeting of the membership. The amendments to our Constitution have been approved and will be posted in the documents folder on https://chesss.clubexpress.com/ .

We had a discussion on the updates to the racing rules. Most of the discussion was on use of whisker poles. It was discussed that the Board amend the racing rules to allow for longer whisker poles if the PHRF of the Chesapeake certificate documents the use of the longer pole the rating certificate. It is understood the PHRF of the Chesapeake may adjust the rating based on the use of a longer whisker pole.
Cruising ideas were discussed. There was interest from cruisers to meet up with racers at overnight destinations like Oxford. Also, some of the retired members said they would be interested short notice cruises to meet up for lunch/dinner. I noted I would send out an email to our community about such events and points of contact.
If you find your interested in a cruise or race but need a second pair of hands, please let me know and I can send out a request to our list and Facebook. There is also a forum on our site for such requests. Often, other skippers would enjoy being on someone else's boat to see how there boat is adapted for single/shorthanded sailing.
